Dear Mullica Township Middle School Family,
I am looking forward to another amazing year as your principal and am honored to continue to lead the Mullica Township Middle School. I feel fortunate every day to work with such a fantastic community of learners. Our teachers, child study team, counselors, aids, facilities team, office staff, my fellow administrators and myself are dedicated to the success of all of our students.
The 2019-2020 school year is shaping up to be an exciting year in the Middle School. This year, we have a completely revamped master schedule. The schedule was changed to allow for additional opportunities for students. One advantage of the new schedule is that all students will have all of their related arts classes on a weekly basis. Yes, that means some of our student’s favorite classes are meeting more often. Students will see their Art, Music, Health, Spanish, and Financial Literacy teachers EVERY WEEK! Physical Education classes will meet twice a week. Additionally, I am excited to rollout a new program this year that will offer a variety of experiences to our students. This year, every student will have the opportunity to participate in Exploratory classes. This class will allow students to explore content that is not part of our usual curriculum. Teachers will oversee classes in topics that are outside of their usual content area or an extension of their content. We have teachers skilled in creative writing, robotics, mindfulness, fitness, etc. Students will be able to choose the class in which they would like to participate on a trimester basis. Additional information will be sent out in September. Another exciting new addition to the middle school is the Coyote Cafe. In a few short weeks, middle school students will be able to purchase their school breakfast at our new food kiosk when they arrive at school and enjoy their meal in the cafe prior to homeroom.
As the mother of two amazing children, James (17) and Jacob (15), I have lived many of the challenges parents face. I understand that I have been entrusted with a great gift and responsibility. When your children walk through the school doors, you are sending your whole world into our care. I take that responsibility seriously. I also firmly believe in the African Proverb “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” For that reason, I invite you to take an active role in your child’s education. I invite your input and welcome you to reach out to me.Last year, I had the opportunity to meet many of my student’s families. This year, I’d like to meet everyone. Please, introduce yourselves when you see me and remind me whose parents you are. I look forward to continuing our partnership, propelling our students and the Mullica Township Middle School toward excellence.
